Position Summary

Capemay Properties is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Officer to support our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing receivables and payables, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post monthly utilities journals
  • Issue monthly rent and CAM fee VAT invoices
  • Capture rent and CAM invoices into the accounting system
  • Monitor outstanding balances, issue payment reminders, and track collections
  • Issue daily receipts for payments received from clients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client account records
  • Perform monthly receivables reconciliations
  • Process supplier invoices and prepare them for payment
  • Reconcile supplier accounts on a monthly basis
  • Verify transaction documentation, contracts, and receipts for compliance
  • Prepare statutory obligations for timely filing and payment
  • Post month-end journals, including petty cash transactions
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements
  • Maintain organized financial records, both digital and physical
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all financial records
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation
  • Assist in annual budgeting processes
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience (real estate experience is an advantage)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as Tally or ERP systems
  • Strong knowledge of account reconciliation, ledger management, and collections follow-up
  • Good understanding of financial regulations and documentation requirements
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills for client interactions
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
