Position Summary
CAPEMAY Properties is seeking a dynamic, creative, and technically skilled Junior / Mid-Level Architect to join our growing development and construction team in Accra, Ghana.
The successful candidate will support the design, planning, coordination and execution of a diverse range of projects, including:
- Warehouses
- Factories and industrial facilities
- Residential homes and apartments
- Commercial developments
- Small- to medium-scale mixed-use projects
The ideal candidate should possess strong architectural design and technical drafting skills, demonstrate proficiency in modern architectural software, and have a working understanding of project management, interior design, and MEPF coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Design & Drafting
- Prepare conceptual designs, layouts, and architectural presentations.
- Develop detailed architectural and construction drawings.
- Produce site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and detail drawings.
- Assist with feasibility studies, space planning, and design development.
- Ensure all designs comply with Ghanaian building regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Industrial & Commercial Design
Participate in the design and planning of:
- Warehouses
- Industrial and factory facilities
- Residential developments
- Commercial and office spaces
- Optimize layouts for functionality, safety, efficiency, and operational flow.
Interior Design
- Develop interior design concepts and finishing schedules.
- Select suitable materials, fittings, furniture, and finishes.
- Prepare 3D visualizations and client presentations.
- Coordinate interior layouts with architectural and MEPF systems.
MEPF Coordination
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire (MEPF) layouts.
- Work collaboratively with MEP consultants and contractors.
- Ensure seamless integration between architectural and MEPF systems.
- Review drawings to identify clashes and improve construction practicality.
Project Management Support
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and update project schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Coordinate meetings, reports, and site documentation.
- Track project progress against approved timelines and budgets.
Site Coordination & Construction Support
- Conduct site inspections, measurements, and progress assessments.
- Ensure construction works align with approved drawings and specifications.
- Assist in resolving technical and design-related issues on site.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in industrial, residential, and commercial projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of Ghanaian building regulations and construction practices is an advantage.
- Membership or registration with a recognized professional body in Ghana is preferred.
